Senior class meeting in the gym
Thursday, March 18 after first lunch.
The
Madison Dragons JOOI Club's
March project is a Penny (Coin) Drive for "Pennies for
Patients." The purpose of this fundraiser is to raise money for
childhood research so that cures can be found for childhood leukemia and
childhood lymphoma. These two diseases mainly affect children in the
elementary and junior high age groups.
Since March 1, the middle school has
raised $228.76!! Their goal is to raise $500.00 by the end of March.
If you would be willing to help them meet their goal, please bring in any spare
change (dollars accepted too!) and take them to Mrs. Engelmann's room. Ask your
parents, relatives, break into your piggy banks, check under the couch!
There is a collection box there, and
this will be added to the JOOI Club's donations to help get them over the
$500.00 goal. There will also be a box in the main office. You can
also give the donation to any middle school JOOI member. Go without one
pop or a bag of chips this week and donate that money to help save
lives!! Such a small sacrifice for such a good cause! Thanks in
advance for joining us in this important work!

during lunch due to trash and messes being left behind. The actions of a few unfortunately will
affect all!
The prom decorations
committee is looking for white Christmas trees and little white
trees in buckets. We want to create an Enchanted Forest of white trees. We are
also looking for a small footbridge to use. If you have any questions, you can
contact Ms. Wolta or Mr. Lovercheck.
If you have any of these, or know someone that does, please contact Mr. Lovercheck or Ms. Wolta.
See Ms. Lockhart for
prom dresses. If I have one you like that fits you, it's yours. To
keep an inventory, consider donating previously worn dresses.
Students: Remember – if you
are failing one or more classes, you are required to attend ACCESS at
8:00 am
each
morning. For every four skipped, a Saturday school will be assigned. You must
check-in with your
ACCESS
teacher first for attendance. Checking into ACCESS and going to
the commons or gym is not
considered
attending ACCESS. ACCESS can only help if you attend.

Class of 2011 –
senior pictures for next year will be due early in the first semester. Please
plan ahead and get your senior pictures scheduled in the summer. We have been
having problems getting senior pictures collected on a timely basis. We need
two shots – one for the yearbook and one for the senior composite. The senior
composite picture needs to be a head and shoulder shot with a plain background
and no hands. The picture must be ÒportraitÓ orientation. Most all
photographers will provide the school with the head and shoulder shot. You just
need to ask!!! You can use another picture for the yearbook if you wish.
Here are two great examples:

Winter is definitely
here! To check on whether we will follow our regular schedule, start
late, or be closed
for a
day, there are a number of sources you can check. Each of these will provide
you quicker information
about any
change to the school schedule than calling the school phone number.
Online, you can check
these sources:
1. The Channel 10/11
website at http://www.1011now.com
2. The Channel 4
website at http://www.ktiv.com
A number of area radio
stations will also receive information about changes to the school day. Try any
of
these:
WJAG, KEXL, KTTT, KZEN, KKOT, KLIR, KJSK, KUSO, and KNEN.
If your parent decides
it is unsafe or unwise for you to travel to school, please have them call and
leave a
message on
the answering machine at school.
